The Australian Studies Centre (ASC) is hosting an Australia Mercosur Leadership Forum to engage high profile representatives from the private sector, the public sector and academia from the four member countries of Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) and counterparts from Australia. The forums are sponsored by the Council on Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR).
On Monday 23rd July the ASC received the visit of Jeff Hart, Senior Advisor de Paydirt Media Pty Ltd. Group.
The ASC had the pleasure to receive Anika Molesworth from Climate Wise Agriculture and Tristan Baldock from Karinya Ag.
More than 30 students from the University of New England (UNE) from Armidale Australia, and a group of four faculty members visited Uruguay in June on an agriculture studies ground tour.
On June 20th, Chris Gale, Chairman at COALAR (Council for Australia and Latin America Relations) from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) visited the Australian Studies Centre, having met with Board Members and Executive Team. Gale showed high interest in ASC’s main activities having worked with the Academia and the Industry.

Last Friday 9 March we received the visit of Cathy Raper, Head of Europe and Latin America Engagement at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia.
Dr Francisco Rosas, one of ASC research colleagues, was invited to AARES Annual Conference to present his paper on “The effect of irrigation on income volatility reduction: A prospect theory approach”.
The Australian Technology Network (ATN) has announced an Australia-South America PhD research program. They are offering ten scholarships for students from the region to study at ATN universities for up to 3.5 years.
Last December, the ASC received the visit of Ms Natalie Collard, Board Member of COALAR, the Council for Australian and Latin-American Relations.
Dr. Nicolás Gambetta, Executive Advisory Board Member was invited by Ambassador Noel Campbell to participate in a reception held at his residency in honor to Minister Steven Ciobo on the 11th December in Buenos Aires.
The Australian Studies Centre (ASC), together with UNESCO’s International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme (IGGP) and Dinamige (National Board for Mining and Geology) organised a series of conferences on Earth Science education with ASC visiting Professor Greg McNamara.
